The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) is the public transit provider for Champaign, Urbana & Savoy and on the campus of the University of Illinois, offering mobility options that include buses, rides for seniors, ADA Paratransit, and resources to encourage walkability, biking, and safety. We take our commitment to our passengers and residents of the District very seriously and maintain various systems to provide public information upon request, receive fraud, waste, and abuse reporting, and to ensure fair treatment for all. The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Any person who believes she or he has been aggrieved by any unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with the MTD.
Fraud, Waste, and Abuse
Anyone who is aware of fraud, waste, or abuse, or suspects fraud, waste or abuse, on the part of any MTD employee or project are encouraged to report their allegation immediately. Allegations may be reported by anyone including MTD employees, contractors, or the general public. Although reports can be submitted anonymously, the City of Champaign (which receives complaints on behalf of MTD) prefers reporters of fraud include their name and contact information as this facilitates a faster resolution in the event additional information is required.
The public may request a copy of public records maintained by MTD under the State Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 5 ILCS 140. Please submit written request by email, facsimile, or US mail.
