Technology Services Manager

The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District is looking for a Technology Services Manager. This individual will make sure that MTD's technology is working effectively and that staff have the technology tools they need to succeed.

The Technology Services Manager will administer a large network of Windows-based desktops and servers. Responsibilities include:

  • Management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of internal networks, servers, and workstations.
  • Management of an Active Directory domain environment.
  • Management of a fixed facility camera system.
  • Supervision of the Technology Support Specialist and management of internal help desk.
  • Coordination with external vendors and management of third party applications.

Applicants should have an Associate or bachelor’s degree in Network Administration, Computer Science, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Applicants should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a related work setting. Related certifications (including CCNA and MCSA) or equivalent experience are preferred.

Applicants should have experience with Windows Server technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy, ISS, PowerShell, Microsoft SQL Server, and Office 365. Applicants should have a mastery of networking concepts including the OSI model, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Switching, and VLANs.

Illinois Terminal Office Supervisor

The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) is seeking a customer-focused individual to fill the position of Office Supervisor at Illinois Terminal.

The Office Supervisor performs a variety of routine and complex clerical and administrative work to oversee the Customer Service Center at MTD’s Illinois Terminal as well as coordinate events in the banquet and meeting center, CityView. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising others, maintaining office procedures, and developing and maintaining relationships with clients and vendors.

Individuals must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; two or four-year advanced degree in a related field is preferred.

This is a full-time, hourly staff position with benefits.

The Illinois Terminal Office Supervisor will work weekends and some evenings.

Bus Operator

The District is looking for self-starting, friendly individuals to become bus operators.

Applicants must have an excellent driving record, and be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Must pass a physical exam and have outstanding customer service skills. Operators must complete up to 8 weeks of training with pay, and then pass multiple parts of the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) exam.

During training wage is $14.00 per hour. Following training, starting wage is $14.08 per hour. Bus operators are eligible for vacation, uniform allowance, life insurance, and credit union membership with many additional benefits available after completing one year of service.

Operators work a minimum of 20 flexible hours per week with opportunity for additional hours, and must be available weekends.

Maintenance II

This individual is required to possess a general knowledge of building custodial care. He or she must be able to operate and service cleaning equipment present at Illinois Terminal. They must perform all assigned tasks with the highest degree of professionalism upholding the high standards of cleanliness patrons of Illinois Terminal have come to expect.

  1. Complete all custodial and maintenance tasks (i.e. mopping, sweeping, windows) in a safe and timely manner.
  2. Familiar with the Terminals HVAC systems and components.
  3. Provide customer service to patrons when needed.
  4. Provide seasonal landscaping maintenance and snow removal.
  5. Service and repair equipment when needed.
  6. Monitors cleaning supplies.
  7. Must understand and implement Illinois Terminal’s various emergency procedures.

  1. High School Diploma or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
  2. 2-4 years of custodial and or maintenance experience preferred

Work shifts vary from day to night, as needed. MTD operates seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, and this position may require some work outside of traditional business hours. This job description is subject to change as needs of the District, and the tools we use, evolve over time.

Part-Time Operator (C-CARTS)

C-CARTS is looking for part-time vehicle operators

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have an excellent driving record. Applicants must pass a physical exam and drug screening. Outstanding skills in dealing with the public are a must.

Starting salary is $11.00 per hour. Operators are eligible for earned time, life insurance, and credit union membership.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6am to 6 pm.

Security II

The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District is seeking an individual to fill a Security II position at Illinois Terminal.

This individual must possess the maturity to effectively communicate and relate with Illinois Terminal patrons, community members and first responders.The Security II position is directly responsible for the interior and exterior security of Illinois Terminal. Individuals must not possess physical restrictions such as, but not limited to; unable to bend down, unable to use stairways, using ladders, operating Terminal equipment and must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Evenings and weekend work will be expected. Individuals must possess a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. They must perform all assigned tasks with the highest degree of professionalism.

The District is hiring for the position of Specialized Services Operator.

Operators must successfully complete four weeks of paid training.

Starting salary is $13.54 per hour following training. Operators are eligible for earned time, uniform allowance, life insurance, and credit union membership.

Operators are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and be available on weekends.
